2. INTRODUCTION

The International Forum on Land Degradation, Soil Conservation and Sustainable Development, 2021 (LASOSU2021) will be held on 21-23 August 2021 in Dalian, China, to provide an avenue for scientists to discuss pressing issues on soil loss facing our profession and society. The forum is hosted by World Association of Soil and Water Conservation, Italian Association of Agricultural Engineering (Italy) and Soil Erosion Division of CSWCS (China), and organized by Dalian University of Technology (China) and the University of Padova (Italy). Thirteen other famous institutes are also involved in co-organizing the conference, including the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation of CAS&MWR (China), Beijing Normal University (China), Huazhong Agricultural University (China), Xi’an University of Technology (China), Italian Association for Soil and Water Bioengineering (Italy), Beijing Forestry University (China), Tsinghua University (China), Key Laboratory of Process and Control of Soil Loss on the Loess Plateau (China), Shandong Agricultural University (China), Southwest University (China) Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (China),Yunnan University (China) Shandong Division of CSWCS (China). The academic committee consists of 30 outstanding scientists in the field of soil conservation and sustainable development, of which 5 of them are academicians. 7. REGISTRATION

(1) Personal data

Please fill in the form entitled Participant information (Accessory 1), and send your personal data to the conference team via the email xzxu2018@126.com. A prompt response will be received after the submission, and then you may pay the registration fee.

(2) Registration fee

The registration will be completed after the registration fee has been paid.

Here is the registration fee for a participant attending LASOSU2021 on site in Dalian, which is the same as that announced in the first circular:

The registration fee includes access to the conference and parallel sessions, lunch and refreshment breaks as scheduled in the conference program, and symposium dinner. The accommodation during the conference will be arranged at your own expense.

If LASOSU2021 were held completely online in case of force majeure factors, e.g. COVID-19, the conference team would refund the registration fee that you have paid.

If the participants outside of China could not come to China due to COVID-19, they would be permitted to participate in the conference online with no registration fee.

The payment method of registration fee will be announced at the beginning of this March.

8. CALL FOR PAPERS

(1) Scope

All research articles and review papers related to the conference topics are anticipated. LASOSU2021 includes 9 keynote sessions and 20 specific sessions (Accessory 2). The authors may prefer the session fit for their papers. Outstanding presentations, posters and papers will be awarded in LASOSU2021. The distinguished papers will be recommended to publish in the international journal International Soil and Water Conservation Research. The papers already published in the journal will be given a priority for the award of the LASOSU2021 outstanding paper.

(2) Guidelines for submission

An abstract is required before the submission of the full paper. The email address for the abstract submissions is xzxu2018@126.com, and the template of the abstract is shown in Accessory 3. The duration to collect the abstracts and full papers is from 8 February 2021 to 31 March 2021 and from 8 April 2021 to 22 May 2021. After submission, a confirmation mail will be received by the corresponding author.

(3) Oral/Poster presentation

Please make sure that you have selected the presentation type to which your abstract belongs. All papers will be peer-reviewed, and the list of oral and poster presentations will be published in the third circular.
