On April 15, 2025, the WASWAC official
journal - International Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR) editorial
board members visited the ISWCR Editorial Office hosted in the International
Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) in Beijing.
The delegation included distinguished scholars and editors from Austria, Spain,
the Czech Republic, and China, fostering cross-border collaboration in soil and
water conservation research.

Key Attendees include: Prof. Peter Strauss (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences,
Vienna; ISWCR Associate Editor); Dr. José Alfonso Gómez Calero (Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, Spanish National
Research Council; ISWCR Associate Editor and Chair of the Journal’s Paper Award
Committee); Dr. Gema Guzmán (Andalusian Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries
Research and Training, Spain; ISWCR Associate Editor); Dr. Elmar Schmaltz (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences,
Vienna; ISWCR Editorial Board Member); Prof. Tomá? Dostál (Czech Technical University in Prague); Prof. Yang Yu (Beijing Forestry University; ISWCR Editorial Board

During the visiting, IRTCES Deputy
Directors Pan Qingbin and Zhang Jianli shared the center’s recent achievements
and upcoming initiatives in sediment research and international cooperation.
Dr. Paige Chyu, ISWCR Executive Editor, elaborated on the journal’s rigorous
editorial processes, emphasizing its commitment to objectivity, diversity of
perspectives, and global applicability.
The ISWCR editorial board members praised
the work of editorial office, the support from the IRTCES, and engaged in
in-depth discussions on enhancing the journal’s impact, expanding collaborative
research projects, and fostering global academic partnerships. The visit
concluded with a tour of the center’s facilities and a reaffirmation of mutual
goals to strengthen ties in resource sharing, talent development, and joint
scientific endeavors.
