1st Workshop on Geomorphology in SE Asia and China
6-7th September 2012, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China
Supported by the British Society for Geomorphology
 
A two-day workshop will be held at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) with the aim of developing a lasting research network comprising of European and SE Asian geomorphologists, and upon which future research and collaboration can be built. For this purpose, a number of experts have been invited to speak about their current research, and what they consider to be the most pressing issues within SE Asia and China at the current time. Workshop aims:
 To explore key challenges facing geomorphologists in SE Asia and China today;
 To provide an opportunity to share experiences and provide feedback on existing research in SE Asia and China;
 To provide attendees with the opportunity to network with fellow geomorphologists;
 To connect with junior and senior researchers with eminent scholars and leading consultants based in Europe, SE Asia and China;
 To provide a platform for the development of collaborative research;
 To produce workshop report including an outline strategy for the development of a sustainable geomorphological research network.

Professor Cheng Xiao Tao (Institute of Water and Hydropower Research, China)
Professor David Higgitt (National University of Singapore)
Dr Gary Moys (Artelia, Shanghai Office)
Professor Peng Cui (Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chengdu)
Professor Xing Ming Meng (Lanzhou University, Gansu)
Registration
Basic registration for the workshop will be just ¥500 to cover catering costs. Participants are expected to arrange their own travel and accommodation.
